In July 2014, Guild began constructing a new state-of-the-art factory in Southern California where the first order of business was to search the globe for original molds, equipment and rare Guild guitars. Machinery was shipped from the previous factory in New Hartford, CT and retro-fitted into the new production line. Ren Ferguson, legendary luthier, was named VP of Manufacturing and R&D. Ren’s history with Guild (notably his Guild Orpheum Series) combined with many years of excellent guitar building made him the perfect visionary to set up and design Guild’s new factory.

Guild is excited to ring in a new era of USA production. Interpreting classic Guild designs through an innovative approach and modern technology, these guitars feel and sound better than ever and are Made to be Played.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE D-20E

Unlike typical undersaddle acoustic guitar pickups that are dependent on string compression for their sound, the L.R. Baggs Element Active System with Volume and Tone Control was engineered to mirror the soundboard’s movement as you play. At the heart of the pickup, a thin, flexible film sensor picks up the guitar’s most delicate nuances. With unrivaled dynamic range, the Element’s minimalist construction creates an intimate coupling between the pickup and guitar for the highest fidelity possible.

In addition to its treble tone control, the EAS-VTC features a revolutionary low frequency compression circuit which actively controls low end dynamics, creating an incredibly realistic and reliable amplified tone.
